BSc-AIN & BSc-DSBI Study Tour to Singapore
The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Insurance successfully organized a study tour to Singapore from June 1 to June 5, 2026. The trip provided Year 2 and above students from BSc-AIN & BSc-DSBI programmes with a unique opportunity to explore scientific innovations, technological advancements, and Singapore’s rich cultural and historical heritage beyond the classroom.
The study tour broadened students’ perspectives through visits to the Singapore Science Centre, offering engaging and interactive experiences in science and technology. Additionally, students gained firsthand insights into cutting-edge technologies by visiting local tech companies, including a special session at Munich RE with Dr. Adam Shao, a leading expert in actuarial digital solutions.
A highlight of the tour was the academic exchange at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where students met Prof. Patrick Pun and his students to discuss topics in financial mathematics and FinTech. This interaction fostered valuable knowledge sharing and cultural exchange between students from Hong Kong and Singapore.
