On 28 February, Department of Mathematics & Statistics has organised a Professional Body Briefing Session – Series #2 Chartered Insurance Institute for students in the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, especially for students of BSC (Hons) in Actuarial Studies and Insurance. The event provides opportunities to students to meet with industry practitioners, and to gain valuable insights from guests’ sharing on work experience and case studies and how professional body’s continue learning can further help students to advance in their careers.
The briefing session started with an introduction to professional qualification framework presented by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)’s representative Mr. Alpha Ho. And then a panel discussion was arranged with four industry professions. The four professions are Ms. Christine Chow (Cert CII) from PICC (Hong Kong) Ltd, Mr. Ronald Fong (ACII) from Marsh, Mr. Kenneth Ip (Cert CII) from China Reinsurance Co. Ltd., and Ms. Maria Mok (ACII) from Insurance Authority. They shared their work experience and provided guidance to the students during the panel discussion.
BSC (Hons) in Actuarial Studies and Insurance is accredited by the CII. Graduates of the Programme are qualified for 75 CII Diploma credits and 15 CII Certificate credits.
