Distinguished Graduate Scholarship - Excellence Award and Merit Award
Starting from academic year 2024/25, a maximum of eight Excellence Award and twelve Merit Award will be given in each academic year.
Scholarship Amount
- Excellence Award: up to 8 awards of HK$8,000 each
- Merit Award: up to 12 awards of HK$3,500 each
Eligibility & Criteria
- be current full-time or part-time students of the Master of Science in Insurance (MSc-INS) Programme;
- have already completed 8 modules of the Programme; and
- have a cGPA of 3.6 or above for the Excellence Award; or have a cGPA of 3.4 or above for the Merit Award.
Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS)
As announced in the 2024 Policy Address, the Government introduces theHong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) starting from the 2025/26 academic year to attract more local students to pursue advanced studies in priority areas conducive to the development of Hong Kong and expand the pool of high-calibre talents for various domains, while further promoting the development of our city into an international hub for post-secondary education.
Scholarship Amount
The total scholarship amount is capped at HK$100,000 per awardee for the entire programme, irrespective of the actual length of study.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship award, applicants should meet the following criteria to be considered for the Scheme:
- The applicant must be a local student newly admitted in the academic year 2025/26 to the designated TPG programmes, either in full-time or part-time mode.
- The applicant must fulfill both the University’s and TPG programme-specific entrance requirements, including the English proficiency requirement.
- Students who are receiving other forms of government scholarships, including the Continuing Education Fund (excluding student financial assistance) for pursuing the same programme will not be considered.
Criteria
The scholarships will be awarded to local students on a merit basis; assessment criteria include but are not limited to the following:
- Academic Achievements
- Personal Statement to highlight the applicant’s commitment, and his/her proposal for contributing to Hong Kong’s priority areas(s) after completing the programme Professional Qualifications (submission of the Personal Statement is compulsory).
- Language Proficiency
- Interview Performance
- Relevant Work Experience
- Achievement in other areas (e.g. Involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, social service, or leadership roles showcasing proactive community engagement)
- Programme-Specific Considerations – Additional criteria determined by the selection panel as relevant
