Exploring Big Data and Actuarial Insurance: High School Students Engage in Exciting Summer Academy Session
Twelve secondary school students from various high schools participated in a captivating 1.5-hour session at HSUHK’s Summer Academy on 1st August. The event, a collaborative effort between the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Registry, was named “Exploring Big Data and Actuarial Insurance.”
During this engaging session, students learned the concept of data analytics through various interactive in-class activities and mini-games. The event was designed to teach them essential skills such as data collection, data cleaning, and effective data representation. Throughout the event, the participants not only learned the crucial concepts but also experienced a lively atmosphere in HSUHK.
