The Service-Learning Programme has been launched in 2019/20. It aims to develop students’ academic skills, sense of social responsibility, and commitment to the community. In the Programme, students can apply their academic knowledge and skills to address community needs, in collaboration with non-profit organizations.
Each year, 3-5 teams of students were recruited to analyse data provided by non-profit organizations to share their findings.
With team advisors’ guidance and coaching, students studied the provided data and applied various data analytical tools learnt from the classes to perform data cleansing and association analysis.

Students Feedback
It is a pleasure to participate in the service learning program. This event gave us the opportunity to touch real data. Through discussions with professors, we learned how to apply our knowledge to data analysis and gained a clearer understanding of how to better present our analytical results. Through the program, I not only gained a sense of accomplishment, but also had a clearer understanding of the role of data analysis in real companies/ organizations.
