Department Research Seminar: Sparse Graphical Time Series Models
The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Insurance recently organized a research seminar on the topic of “Sparse Graphical Time Series Models”. The seminar, held on 25 April 2024, featured Dr. Dorothy Kam Hin CHUNG, a Research Associate from the Department of Applied Mathematics at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as the guest speaker.
Dr. Chung’s presentation centered around the exploration of sparse graphical time series models. She delved into the theoretical foundations, methodologies, and applications of these models in air pollution data analysis, shedding light on their potential significance in various fields.
The seminar garnered significant interest, attracting over 40 students and faculty members from the department and beyond. Participants had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with Dr. Chung, fostering a collaborative environment for further exploration of the topic.
