BSc-DSBI Year 4 Students Win Championship at the “2025 Region 9 Project Management Case Competition”!
Our BSc-DSBI Year 4 student team excelled at the “Region 9 Project Management Case Competition 2025” held in Hong Kong, winning the championship! The team, consisting of Sin King Hin (first from the left in the photo), Lau Ngai Sang (second from the left), and Chan Tin Yan (third from the left), competed fiercely against participants from various institutions in Hong Kong. Acting as consultants, the contestants were tasked with designing concrete and feasible digital transformation solutions for different industries. They combined project management frameworks with innovative thinking to submit written proposals and deliver presentations. A professional judging panel evaluated the submissions based on their innovation and effectiveness, ultimately selecting the winning team. As the champion team, they represented Hong Kong in Taichung, competing against teams from other regions and earning a Merit Award in the competition.
The BSc-DSBI team’s proposal focused on Cathay Pacific and introduced an AI-powered solution called “Cathay Copilot” aimed at addressing several challenges faced by the airline, including competition from low-cost carriers, staffing shortages, inconsistent customer experiences, and limited customer engagement beyond flight bookings. These challenges negatively impact brand loyalty, operational efficiency, and opportunities for ancillary revenue.
The “Cathay Copilot” AI solution is a travel assistant powered by artificial intelligence, designed to enhance customer engagement across the pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight stages. Through a web and mobile application, it provides personalized trip planning, flight services, and targeted promotions, delivering a seamless travel experience for customers while helping Cathay Pacific strengthen its competitive edge.
