Three teams of BSC-DSBI Year-3 and Year-4 students participated in the Service Learning Programme presented their findings from analyzing the elderly health care data provided by Haven of Hope Hospital on 16 July 2021.
The teams were leaded by their team advisors, Dr Tom Ng and Dr Timothy Ng, respectively. With an aim to help the Hospital to better understand the health condition of the elderly, the relationships of the diseases and health factors, students were required to utilize their knowledge learnt during their study, e.g. data mining, machine learning and categorical data analysis.
The Programme aims to develop students’ academic skills, sense of social responsibility, and commitment to the community. In the Programme, students can apply academic knowledge and skills into meaningful community service.
A new round of Service Learning Programme has launched. Interested students are welcome to form their own teams and apply for the Programme.
