The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Insurance organized a workshop on 9 April 2026 titled “AI Coding × Prompt Engineering — Turn Data into Stories with AI”. This workshop focuses on helping students understand how to structure prompts, transform raw data questions into visual ideas, and experience how AI can generate prototype dashboards.

The workshop introduced the fundamentals of prompt engineering and explained why this skill is increasingly important in today’s data‑driven environment. A live demonstration showcased how AI tools can generate dashboard prototypes, followed by a hands‑on activity where students practiced structuring prompts and creating visual concepts.

Through this interactive workshop, students gained valuable experience in applying AI to data storytelling and learned how to move from prototype thinking to real project applications. The workshop offered practical exposure to emerging technologies and encouraged students to critically consider how AI can be integrated into professional practice.
